FINCA GINETA

Ecological farmer and bio-builder

Jack, from London, has come to Maro attracted by its beauty and the micro climate that allows him to grow exotic plants, little known and by the community of like-minded people.

He rents a 3000 m2 field that had not been cultivated for more than 5 years, but where 4 avocados and 4 custard apples had survived. He has introduced trucks of manure and compost and has planted rotations of sweet potato, broad beans and squash, apart from his garden for self-consumption. You are learning techniques to improve the soil, compost and regenerate the fertility of your plot. Save seeds that you share with friends.

It has left areas of nature without clearing and planted flowers to attract biodiversity of insects and other fauna. In his field there is a great variety of edible, medicinal, aromatic and decorative plants.

Jack is ECA / BAM secretary and one of the organizers of the monthly 'Maro Bello' cleanup meet. He is interested in low impact life, green building, music and community organizing made positive changes.
