A project of the Eco Axarquía Association

We are a group of organic farmers from Maro and Nerja (Malaga). Through the Eco Axarquía association we have been working for 4 years to create a mutual aid network as well as local farmers markets and consumer groups.
The aim is to facilitate the direct connection between organic farmers and local consumers to be able to market local organic products and make them accessible to the public, to improve the local economy, health and use of agricultural land.
We promote sustainable forms of organic farming, we improve the distribution of products by creating markets that are as local as possible and we promote the consumption of organic products to improve public health.

The aims of the association are the following:

1. Encourage the production of local organic seasonal food, as well as responsible local consumption.

2. Encourage the production and consumption of healthier and less processed local quality food and artisanal products, for the health and well-being of consumers.

3. Promote the development of a sustainable agricultural system that contributes to the conservation of the environment.

4. Promote, protect, advise and help local farmers, artisans and food transformers in their business development.

5. Promote and enable appropriate public or private spaces for the sale of products made by our members.

6. Promote the products made by food producers and processors in specialized stores, catering, etc.

7. Support, advise and accompany local producers interested in making a transition to organic farming.
